The Biggest Story

I believe each of us is worthy of love and belonging, that the blessing of innovation is the hope it offers to a tired world, that we will especially thrive when we experience genuine acceptance from those closest to us, and that creativity is that secret sauce that helps us discover life all over again.  And now, we come to the fifth quote I love.  It comes from Brit Barron, who closes one of her sermons on YouTube by saying, “If we keep telling the biggest story of God possible, we will catch up to something amazing that God has already been doing in the world.”[1]

I dream of a world where the harm of trauma does not have the final word, where spiritual abuse is not the final message we hear from ‘god.’  I dream of a world where love, belonging and acceptance are freely and abundantly given and known by all, a world where innovation is embraced by skeptics and creativity is not a luxurious pastime.  And I think that this means we need to be telling the biggest story of God possible because, as I’ve learned from Brit, the story was always meant to get bigger the whole time.

I believe God is alive and actively working in our world today to bring about goodness and healing and beauty to our fragmented lives and communities all around the globe.  Sit up and watch and listen!  See what beautiful things are being created with the infinite, abundant grace of the Divine. 🌺
